Internet

Internet works again! A week ago we lost the phone and internet connection. As an internet addict I didn't like it of course, especially because here in Italy you never know when it will be fixed and internet is THE medium to contact friends and familiy all over the world. But last Friday they have fixed it, and how....

We already had the feeling that the cables were the problem, because the phone was dead too. (The cables aren't under the ground like in Holland). When finially a man from Telecom arrived he confirmed our presumption and started to look at the cables outside. "Mmmm, there is the problem, a damaged cable." A short moment he looked worried, then he looked to our neighbour's house and gone was the wrinkle at his forehead. "Is that house empty?" "Yes?!?", we answered. At the same moment he cut the cable that goes to the neighbour's house and reconnect it to our house. "So, now your internet and phone works again!!" And it did, hahahaha!!

Even Marcello couldn't stop laughing, this is the real Italian way!! First we couldn't believe that he just cut it, but it is a fast and smart solution. Why spending money for a new cable if there is a good cable that nobody is using (at the moment). Whenever people move into that house, then it is the moment to place a new cable!

Polenta

There is a follow up of the SardoSeadas cooking movie! Our great chef Enrico cooked polenta for us and showed how to eat it in a traditional way. In a few months you can book him to cook for you, no matter were you live at our planet. You only need a kitchen (or chicken Enrico?). :-)
